Default The cg-lock, I ordered one...

http://www.cg-lock.com

I asked the guy our BMW chapter uses for all safety/harness instruction (he does belts and restraints for several NASCAR teams) what he thought of it, and he said it looks like it might be worth a try. He was not worried about safety concerns.

And I just found out my shipping charges have been waved because there was a delay in shipping out my order.

I'll let you guys know what I think of it once I get it, of course I'll have to test it out in the truck first...

EDIT 12/7/04
You may want to skip down to the post I made on 12/7...
Based upon my first inspection this is a quality product that should be considered.
I have yet to figure out the instructions, but the piece is well made and I can't wait to have the time to hook it up in my truck so I can test it out.

I have read on several other forums that it is stock class legal. I think they even advertise it as stock class legal in Sportscar, but can't remember for sure. Funny thing is, out of all the cars I have ever raced, the S2000 needs it the least But I'm sure it could still improve things. If Doug ever gets his he can tell us about it

Ain't that the truth...

I find at autox events just twisting the belt backwards a few times and then pulling tight on it after it is clipped works fine, however, at the track twisting the belt is dangerous because the speeds are so much higher so I can't do that.

I will not buy a 5-pt harness for my car until I replace the seats with a race bucket because the upper straps must have a specific place to go so they don't slip down upon impact. Therefore I'm still in the stock seat. What I have been doing is pushing myself back into the seat and pulling up on the belt as I go down pit lane, then at VTEC in 2nd I stand on the brakes, this causes the seatbelt to lock and if I relax my body and make it bigger before getting off the brakes the belt stays locked the entire time I'm out on track.

This product will never lock the upper belt which is the one I REALLY want locked because it does nothing behind my shoulder to stop the belt from coming out, but my hope is I can get the belt across my lap tighter and then have an easier time locking the shoulder portion under the hard braking because I will only be tightening the shoulder part, not the shoulder and lap part. I figured for the money it was worth a try...
