Default How to autocross with the BMW club?

I am unable to make this upcoming autox and also with an infant at home do not
have too much time over the weekends. I was wondering if the autox at the BMW club would allow me to do more runs over a shorter period of time. Last time I
went to the SCCA one, I was able to do 3 runs in 6 hours .... (8am - 2pm)

Any suggestions, comments etc would be helpful.

Thanks.

You will most likely get more runs in a more relaxed atmosphere with the BMW/Porsche clubs. They typically do practice runs in the morning, break for lunch, and do competitive runs in the afternoon.

Tim Moriarty is the guy to see. Unfortunately, their season is done for this year.

Our illustrious leader also shows up for some of these events since he's tied into the BMW club...

Also, for what it's worth, when we had young 'uns we brought them along to the events - we tried to do everything as a family. Just plan ahead so you bring all the necessities...

I too am on the BMW CCA autox committee for the local chapter. However, as Mark pointed out our season is completed. Next year I will post the new schedule as I usually do, and you can come out to any of our events, I think the non-member price is about $30.

We time all of our runs, morning and afternoon. We have a Top Gun Challenge where all member cars/drivers compete against each other. Points are awarded for each event based upon times, and those points are used to determine the Top Gun Challenge. This year we had 7 events, the Top Gun Challenge takes the best 5 out of 7.

I'm happy to say I ran 3 of the 7 events this year, and got 9th place. I think next year I will do more than 3 events. My Spa is really set for the track, not the autox, but I must admit, I'm starting to get hooked on the autox thing...
