More on the Hyundai-Kia mileage issue - $79 million a year is huge, although not an issue for a big conglomerate. You've also got to factor in that a percentage of these cars could be sold by their owners, thereby reducing the payout liability year upon year.

Hyundai and Kia executives said the higher figures were unintentional errors. They apologized and promised to pay owners of the 900,000 cars and SUVs for the difference in mileage. The payments, which will be made annually for as long as people own their cars, are likely to cost the companies hundreds of millions of dollars.
If all 900,000 owners get cards for $88.03, it would cost the automakers more than $79 million a year.

You claim Honda is a little car company, I do not agree, and that's ok...
I claim Hyundai/Kia is a very young car company, I don't know if you agree
For something like an EPA/government involved issue I'll state for the record I remain suspect
Somehow they got that rating from the EPA, somehow the vehicles have not performed
For the consumers I'm sure it's a big deal
For me I see it as an issue a young car company has to go through
It is, after all, a mpg thing and not something like the air-bags don't deploy or the brakes might not work or the accelerator sticks
They make great cars that look great and I'm a big fan
Not much more to say
