Nope, I’m actually off on that Saturday so I’m a go.

And I’m trying to get Diego, to come out in Marks old S too.

IMPORTANT CHANGE OF PLAN!

Saturday, We will start the drive at Exit 25, not Exit 28. I think this is at milepost 72.8. Levi, it is exactly 17 minutes south of Exit 28.

Start time is 9:45 a.m.
On the west side of I-87, there is a Stewarts. We will meet there.

The exit signage is for Route 8 - Chestertown, Hauge, Horicon, Brant Lake and another town I can't remember.

The road from Exit 25 to Ticonderoga is very scenic - although not as fast, especially if we hit some traffic.

I booked a room near the Lake George exit for Friday night. That will put me close enough to the meeting place that I will actually get to enjoy the continental breakfast and coffee at the hotel. I don't know why many places have moved away from coffee makers in every room, last place I stayed didn't serve coffee until 7:30. Most travelers (I would think) like to get on the road fairly early, not waiting around just to get some free coffee!

....and ice cream.

.....and 91 non-ethanol gasoline.

Geez, I never knew worms were so popular with the Upstate crowd. Within 5 or 10 minutes along route 8, there is a "rest area" with a fishing hole. Maybe I'll put little kid fishing poles in the trunk and we can have a quick fishing derby - three casts each.

Anyone who is coming should report in here so we have a count. I won't have internet after I head up north on Friday.

Andy, if you and your son want to stay over Saturday night at my camp in Elizabethtown, I can arrange to put you up, subject of course to the final approval of she who has to arrange for food and sheets. This is near Exit 30 and we will likely pass by the place on our drive. I am heading to Watkins Glen on Sunday afternoon - leaving around 2 or 3 in the afternoon is the current plan. Throw some bathing suits in the car. There is enough to amuse yourself there. Then we can caravan you back to Seneca Falls on Sunday. The drive through the Adirondacks on Route 8 is magnificent! I think the long term weather forecast looks very good - at least down here in Connecticut.
