Default Making Sawdust

First project up is called Battery Bench
I'm tired of putting all the batteries for my toys on a boot tray on the floor for the winter
In addition I need a sturdy table so I can get the dehumidifier off the floor in the summer

Top of the legs for the bench with tricky cuts

Sides for the top, more fun cuts that just make crap loads of sawdust

Top in glue/clamp mode, bottom is 0.75" plywood

Sometimes projects seem so out of control ya just have to smile

QUICK, get another clamp

Glue is like paint, it takes way too long to cure.........

Sitting upside down it's easier to see how the weird leg cuts all come together

And even more glue and clamp before screw, brackets for lower shelf

The little guy is really coming together
But this is the slow part, I can only clamp so much then I have to wait for the glue to dry before I can add the screws

Looks great Doug. I use the "glue & screw" technique. I'm too impatient!

Another reason why you should take up welding: You don't have to wait around as long

I hear ya Harry!
To my advantage/disadvantage I have so many projects active I just switch to another one while I wait for stuff to dry/cure.

Hey Skip
Welding, hmmmm, done it a few times, I need a ton of practice though, me not very good...

It's my Mom's B-day today

I have been very busy making sawdust...

Little Wren House- Such a cute tiny bird, this is my second house exactly like this, but this one goes on a pole, the one I made last year hung and we had 1 family use that one this year

Blue Bird House- Mom's favorite bird, we have lots of these guys, but I would like to get them closer to the house so another nesting box was needed, this too will mount on a pole, I have made so many of these over the years, but never the same exact design

Chickadee or Nuthatch House- We have a ton of these birds but I have never made them a house, I learned they like to hop into their nest from a tree, they do not like to fly up to the house, so this mounts to a tree so their front door is right next to the tree trunk
