Default The "mega storm"

What is everyone doing to prepare for hurricane Sandy?

What are they forecasting for your area?

Just watched the weather channel, they are saying NYC may see more water than it has ever seen!

Here in Hudson, NH, they are forecasting a couple of inches of rain and 50 mph gusts as of right now.

But we all know that could change.

Discuss!

We have a high wind alert and a flood watch.

It is very likely that the office park I am in may be affected as it is close to the Hudson as also on lower ground. Where I live is on higher ground. Not sure what kind of ponding I may have in the backyard this year. Last year with Irene while there was ponding, it never got close to the house.

Woke up early this AM and stocked up on water, canned food and battery lights. I expect we will have power outage at some point. As I work for a state agency, we will have power there with essential staff remaining so I should be able to charge my phone there if need be. I've filled up gas in the Si and also the S2000 (just to be on the safe side). Need to fill up the Subie at some point today.

I'm about an hour drive from the coast and right now all we have is a high wind watch, not even a warning and no flood advisories.

Nancy's about to go out to get a case of beer. I bought the hard stuff yesterday.

Otherwise, I'm trying to get my leaves up, cleaned the gutters, plan to put down the storm windows, maybe move my car to open ground tonight.
