Default Moving to Buffalo

I will be moving to Buffalo very soon, my S will follow in a couple of months. What kind of things are out there to do with her? Is there any Auxing out there? Group runs? My wife things I am crazy for keeping a convertible in Buffalo but I just can't give her up. Thanks

I know squat about Buffalo.

Here is one thing to do, go to www.gvc-bmwcca.org and look up the info on our autocross events; the ones you want to look for are at BIMP (Batavia Int'l. Motorsport Park) which is only a few minutes east of Buffalo.

Welcome to Western NY!

There is no shortage of autocross events in the area. Besides the club Doug mentioned, check out www.wny-scca.org and www.flr-scca.com

Introduce yourself if you come out to an FLR event. (I do attend 2-3 Western NY events each season too.)

Hey jlvtx1800, one other thing, sometimes people in Buffalo forget, you will be only about 1.5 hours away from Toronto.

If you know Toronto this should have just happened -

If you don't know Toronto I suggest you get on it, it is one of my favorite cities, and the TToronto Forum has a lot of great guys.

Visit Ellicotville just south of Buff for Winter skiing and summer golf. You will be in between Cleveland & Toronto. Niagara Falls, Indian & Canadian casinos, Canadian ballet, two inland oceans (read lots of boating), NFL football, and much more. Should be something to do every day.

Thanks guys.

What do you guys do about your plate on the front of the car? DE does not require one, and I just don't want to hang it off the front bumber. Picts would be great!!!

Although I agree the S looks better without a front plate, this area has plenty of new trooper recruits that look for any reason to hand out tickets. This winter they were issuing them for things like snow/dirt on your plate. So I just stick mine on the front and avoid the hassel.

You should find plenty to do in Western NY, I grew up about 25 miles south of Buffalo and try to get out to visit my family a couple times each summer.

Are you going to be living in the city or one of the suburbs?

I haven't run a front plate since 1986. No tickets yet. (Knock on wood) Be prepared, if you are pulled over for something else they'll tack on the no plate ticket though. They'll probably get you if you got stopped at a roadblock. I haven't been through one in years, but they still do them.

Front plates are like baseball to me. I currently have one strike so I still am running no plate. When I strike out I will break down and put it back on...
