I got a set of Enkei PF01 (black)
I've been eying these myself. What specs did you go with? Are you lowered? Can't wait to see pics.
I am not lowered yet, but planning on a mild 3/4"-1" drop in the future.
I went with:
17"x9" rear with a 60mm offset
&
17"x8" front with a 50mm offset.
This should give me clearance for lowering.
I was debating between the all black wheels or the black with machined lip. I went with the all black.

I've been looking at black with the machined lip.

I don't do autocross or go to the track but it does sound like fun. Is there any place around the Albany area to do that?
If you want to do autocross, check the MoHud SCCA schedule. MoHud had two events scheduled for 4/20 and 4/21 at the OGS Parking Lot off of McCarty Ave.

As far as tracks go, you can run at Lime Rock Park (hour and a half from Albany) or Watkins Glen (3 hours from Albany). Groups that welcome the S2000 in stock trim are NASA NE and SCDA.

Thanks...I will definitely have to check it out

If you do come, be sure to stop by and say Hi. I will be driving a Laguna Blue Pearl with the factory hardtop and should definitely be there on 4/21 which is a points event. The 4/20 event is a test and tune and is not a points scoring event, so I may skip on showing up that day.

You're starting to stray into dangerous territory. First you get the bug. Then you get the disease. Then you find that there is no cure. Then you just give up and live with the chronic illness.

There are several current threads in these Upstate Forums: NASA March 30 Track Day thread; Autocross discussion thread; Track Days 2013 thread; and my very own MG On Track thread. I can't speak much for autocross, but a track day is just about the most fun you can have with your pants on.

I've been living with the chronic autocross disease for 23 years. As for pants? Don't think they are required for SCCA autocross. The rule book has specifics about helmets and closed toe shoes, but I don't recall anything about pants.

I was in the same boat as you 2 weeks ago. For me, it's street driving in summer months with 1-2 AX or DE's/year. In the AX or DE's, fun and safety over sheer time and dry performance. I bought Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I read dozens of threads on the Tire forum. The strongest recommendation for a street tire were these Michelins. Tire Rack data clearly supports that. They are a Max Performance Summer tire. If you do street driving and do so when it's wet, I would avoid any Extreme Performance Summer (EPS) as while ideal for dry conditions, are quite compromised in the wet. Examples are Dunlop Direzza ZII, Hankook Ventus R-S3, Bridgestone Potenza RE-11. The ESP likely won't last as long in general as their compound is softer.

Michelins aren't the cheapest...though they do get very high marks for life. They were $700 from Tire Rack incl ship and incl the current $70 rebate offer (4/15/13 expires). 17" OEM AP2 sizes. Mounted and sun local for $65.

Good luck,

Mike

Whenever you get them mounted we have to see pictures, I was looking at white with machined lips
