Default Need lawyer recommendation for speeding ticket

This weekend I was cruising towards Elmira to see my GF on 17 in the S2k and was written a ticket for speeding. If anyone could recommend an excellent traffic court lawyer in the area that'd help me out a million. If more details are necessary shoot me a PM

Joe

I got a ticket a couple years ago 83 in a 65. Being that I'm from NH I didn't want to have to drive 3+ hours down to fight the ticket
so I was able to hire a lawyer over the phone that represented me. Got the ticket down to "illegal parking on pavement" with no points
and it cost me $150 total. Mike is right, NY just wants cash.

Give us all your cash ya New Englanders

TO the OP: Were you pulled over by a NYS Trooper? If yes, get a lawyer. Talk to someone you know locally and they may be able to either refer you to someone or handle it themselves. NYS Troopers dont negotiate down a ticket. Their policy is to present facts as they stand and it is up to the judge to make a lenient offer. Carry a copy of your driving record (if incident free) and use that to substantiate that you are a safe driver and respect the law. That has helped me the one time I was pulled over by a trooper. Judge will give you the option of pleading guilty to the offense or going to trial.

If it is a local police office or a sheriff's deputy, then you may get a deal by the officer if you show up to court. Again that depends on how your interaction was with the officer in question.

Good luck and I wish you the best in fighting this ticket.

If your record is decent, any lawyer should be able to get the charge reduced, albeit with a larger fine. That's how the game works.

I recommend getting a good radar detector man. I run an Escort 8500 X50 and it has saved my neck many times. Figure if it saves you from one ticket and lawyer fees, it pays for itself!

She's actually from Elmira which is another 2+ hours away. I can easily source a phone book but I'd rather go with a lawyer someone has had experience with
