I agree with Jeff_Fasting, a good exhaust would be on my list before an intake!!!
Here is another top product to get
You want to MAKE SURE it is a counter sunk model
The drop in height of the shift knob will make an unbelievable difference, shorter throw, and such an increased feeling
I think these counter sunk knobs are one of the most popular mods you can make, and they make such a big difference
Moddiction Anvil Stainless Steel Shift Knob
https://moddiction.com/
He has other knobs that are more money and come engraved, but even the lower cost option here is countersunk and will really amaze you at the difference
Here is a pic of mine, mine is older and aluminum which is why I can get it to a chrome like finish, but the key is, 2" in diameter and countersunk

You can also simulate the added sound of an aftermarket intake by removing the lid to the airbox. It'll heatsoak a little more on hot days, but the sound is much better
It is what I used to do before I went out and bought an intake.

as in the spirit of Upstate, and having fun with the new guy, I think we should make LOW COST suggestions on what he can do to his car
He just got the thing so low cost options might be a fun way to go
I suggested the shift knob, my second would be a set of good tires, and we have an active thread on that right now - https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/100...-should-i-buy/
And lets see, after tires I'll throw in Zaino as Jeff already tossed out the exhaust idea he can have that one

BYS perhaps??
I warn you, it may take a while for the order to be filled, but it's an awesome suggestion
I have the BYS Lowering kit on my car, if you are interested in checking it out before hand send me an email and we can work out a time for you to pop over
I don't do PM's here as they are such a pain so here - spaleader@yahoo.com
