Hung out with my buddy Steve last night and pulled the engine out of his Mustang.
She done blowed up...



Check out the valve head embedded in the piston !

Great photo of the engine, Jeff. Hope it's salvageable (I 'spect it is). It sure beats putting in a new left rear wheel bearing and hub (and assorted EVAP emission parts that failed).

Bad day today in the shop.
I had a mountain bike tire at 50psi burst about a foot from my face today 10min after I pumped it up.
I was working on the crankset, heard some creaking, then BAMMMM !!!. Silence. Silence like in Saving Private Ryan on D-Day after a bomb explosion. No radio sound, no nothing for 30sec or so.
Messed up...
