Season is ending - What plans do you have?
#12
We'll be at the NE "Crawl" this weekend. Looking forward to it. After this weekend, outside of a few Sunday drives, the S won't get much exercise. Generally it's under cover by mid November. We're somewhere around 68K miles on our '04. Lots of road trips!
Oh, no plans for anything over the winter, or in the spring. The S is fine the way it is.

I have about 64,700 miles, expecting to hit 65,000 in early January. I plan to opt into a new extended warranty program, get all the internals inspected, test the heart and the old ECU. Night vision check may result in new lenses.
Once I have a clean bill, I'll buy a slimming bathing suit for Disgruntled and send him south for a week's vacation.
Well, you asked.

I just hit 75,500 today. Purposely drove the car in the rain today.. Got sideways a few times... Pretty fun in the rain.. Tomorrow suppoed to be 80 degrees so ill drive tomorrow then wash, wax, and storage. Oil has 900 miles on it and is still fresh since the supercharger install. Long hibernation. Not many miles this season.. Maybe 3000 if that.

Other than the track day on the 27th, that's about it. I am almost up to 500 miles this summer. I hope next year is better but its doubtful with young kids. I started the year with 892xx miles on the car. I thought for sure I would hit 90k, but it doesn't look like I'll make it. I also planned to do a topless foliage cruise this fall, but my opportunity for that has likely came and went.
I am now trying to drive it once a week, it sat for 9 weeks earlier this year and the RS3-s had major flat spots. I felt like I was driving a tank with metal tracks the way the car bounced down the road on flat tires.

I've put just over 1600 miles this year on the S, the total clock is just over 37k.
The S will go into hibernation when the salt hits the road. Because of the new paint, I have to wait till early November before it can get a proper bath

As far as mods go, the only thing that I am thinking of is a roll cage. Prior to that I need to get in shape so I will be able to squeeze into the tighter quarters once a rollcage is in. So not sure when I will get the roll cage, but for next season, I want to do a complete flush of all fluids. Will be installing new pads this season. Hope to do so this weekend or after the autocross but definitely before the 27th at Lime Rock Park.
