Official start is at 10:15 a.m.

Start will be at Exit 28 off Northway (I-87) (Route 74, Ticonderoga, Paradox Lake) This exit is at Northway Milepost 88.1 Exit 28 is 1 3/4 hours north of the Hudson River crossing in Albany and about 50 minutes north of Lake George Village exit. From Clifton Park rest area, probably about 1.5 hours. About 35 minutes north of the Warrensburg Exit and say 30 minutes north of the Chestertown exit (which I think is Route 8 for those coming from the west.

Exit 28 is about 1 hr, 20 min. south of Plattsburgh if you happen to come from that direction.

For Conedodgers staying in Long Lake, it is at least a one hour drive East on the Blue Ridge Highway which you pick up in Newcomb. Lands you at Exit 29, then go south on I-87 one exit.

No real parking area. Pull off the highway, go east a very short distance, cross Route 9 and pull over. Very expensive Sunoco station with snacks on right a hundred yards South on Route 9.

Expect slim pickings for lunch. This is a drive, not a dining event.

Theoretical Route

Exit 28 – Route 74 – Ticonderoga

1. East on Route 74 to Corduroy Road, Route 2
2. Left on Corduroy Road, Route 2 to Penfield Museum / Ironville

13. Stop (?) at Ice Cream Snack Bar.
14. Cross Crown Point Bridge back into New York. Continue straight to Route 22
14.A. Left on Route 22.
16. Right (third ?) onto Route 50, Russell Street or onto Creek Road (fifth ?)

I don't have a wife or girlfriend - can I still attend? ;-)

Maybe I should start looking at that option though - might have been luck than I do with men

Put me down as a probable. I put the friday before as an off day from work so I can travel. The +1 is on the fence about coming with me. I think she will come though.

If there is a strong contingent coming from the west, I will likely come up there the prior night and settle into a motel. Cone Mark and Harry, this is a wonderful drive. You will enjoy the roads up there.

I'm thinking of staying in Long Lake and taking 28N across on Saturday morning. I was up that way on the bike last year. Covered from Long Lake to Saratoga to White Face/Lake Placid. Great roads!
