Stuff near New Hyde Park
Everyone-
I'll be up at Hyde Park for the weekend. Arriving Friday, leaving Sunday.
We're having dinner at CIA on Friday.
My GF will be over at CIA for a class on Saturday. I'll have a good chunk of the day off. Looking for a dinner choice.
Sunday we'll do something together.
I think we're staying about 1/2 hour NW of Hyde Park in a B&B. Trying to get the location.
I know around CIA there's the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt estates and likely some other ones that are available to walk around.
Any particular must see's in the area?
Thanks -
Gary

The Roosevelt estate is a good way to spend a major part of your day.
If you are up for it, you can drive about an hour north to Kinderhook to see the Martin Van Buren estate http://www.nps.gov/mava/index.htm

Thanks!
We're staying in High Falls, on the West side of the Hudson, about 20 miles away.
My GF has a class on Saturday, from 930 - 230, so I'll likely spend that time locally. Maybe we'll go further on the way up Friday?
What's the gas situation up there? I should have no issue getting up and back, but with the extra driving, I'm a little concerned. Are the gas issues prevalent closer to the city reaching that far?
