Track Days - 2013
#442
Question for some of my track buddies.
If you had your choice on how to split up 80 minutes of track time, would you take:
1) (4) 20 minute sessions in a half day with less time between sessions. Gaps ~40 minutes.
2) (4) 20 minute sessions spread out between 9am and 3 PM with larger gaps between sessions. Gaps 90-120 minutes.

I love the 1/2 day at LRP with 20 min on track and 40 mins off. I leave the house at 11:30 and I get to the track and unload, on track by 1 pm. done at 5 pm and home by 7 pm. The down side is NO time to work on car or change tires, the car never cools off.
This of course does not work well at a track like WG. SCDA used to combine Int and ADV in the afternoon at WG so you got three 30 min run sessions between 1 and 5pm and it was hectic as hell to get settled, gas car, change tires and back to grid..
I also like the open track session at the end of the day that CHIN uses, depending on the time of year it ranges from 30 mins (spring / fall) and 90 mins during Jun, July, Aug. The session is open to all drivers and its a good chance to get the Novice drivers out on track with the more advanced guys.
