Mr. Osprey - how was the racing yesterday? Looking forward to seeing the videos.
I had fun on saturday crewing for the vintage racer. Got to the track in the nick of time just as he was about to enter false grid. Set up the Apex Pro Track Coach, launched the app and sent him on his way. He had a good race as did Tom and I as spectators yelling to him to stay on it as he accelerated down Sam Posey straight.
During the break, I got to shake hands with David Hobbes and I told him I missed watching his commentary on F1. Also told him my wife was a big fan of his fancy ties. He laughed and very graciously thanked me. Tommy Kendall was there too as was Lyn St. James.
For the afternoon race, I talked Mr. Osprey into lowering his tire pressure as the track had warmed up. Their race was cut short owing to clean up in a prior group. The group never seemed to get up to speed and I think the reason was the pack did not get to stretch out and leave open air gaps and also due to the west bend apex having a ton of speedi dry from a clean up having the group alter their apex.
Race done, we packed the car up and shared a few beers in the paddock. Got to talk to Dave Nicholas and it turns out he used to race the BMW 1600 and 2002 when Max Hoffman was importing the cars in and before they had any official BMW support. He showed us pics from the old days and all his victories. It was very cool to see that. It was 8:30 by the time I got home and I had a big smile as I relayed the day’s events to JJ.
Everyone should take the chance if possible and go spend Labor Day at the track. You’re guaranteed to have fun and make some good memories.

Another video from the Historic Festival. Once again, the view out the back was pretty interesting with the MGA of Jim Juhas and then the MGA of Keith Harmer battling the Lotus 7.

That was exciting to watch. Great video El Jefe and excellent driving.
Also I think I know why the apex pro showed that you were driving off track past the uphill towards west bend. I did not tighten one of the handles on the mount and the unit moved causing the discrepancy.

Got to the motel at 4 PM and after I checked in made my way to the track. Got registered, put the stickers on and went through tech. They had a very nice welcome party. Track walk was cancelled as R&T were there with all their super cars to test. Got to see a McLaren Senna as well. In my excitement I forgot to take a pic.
Had dinner with another FRS owner and the guys from Apex Pro. Dinner was hosted by the SCCA. So far it’s been a great experience. Some pics
