If they keep dropping out at that rate you may be on the podium before you know it !.

At Lime Rock today for practice & qualifying. Dave Nicholas sent his instructions. I ran some pretty good laps, but felt quite uncomfortable in the car. Leonard McQue blew his engine. Jim Juhas is low on compression on #2 cylinder and is down on power. Butch O'Connor was blowing water out the exhaust. I'll go up with a compression tester and a new head gasket tomorrow. Right now, Mike Clifford and I are the only two without significant issues. Didn't see the sheets, but expect to have qualified in the range of 16 to 18. |
Just arrived at 8:45. Not raining yet, although quite wet on the way down. Paddock ranks rather thin. Hope it stays dry.

It's unfortunate that I ran a 1:11:179 in the first race.
Cyrus Clark my only witness, but with my luck he wasn't paying attention. Otherwise, all those descending 1:11s would have been personal bests; and I could brag that I set 4 personal new records in one race! Now, instead of glory, I can merely report that I broke the 1:12 barrier. Well, at least there was a large crowd when I did it. |

From reading the results you improved your finishing position every outing! |
