All rotaries are pretty finicky, really. Look up "Apex Seals" and you'll see that they're basically a wear item that need to be replaced pretty regularly. Which requires an engine-out rebuild. I think you usually have to do this every 50-75k miles. I'm not a rotary expert, so maybe someone else can chime in and expand on all of this.
In general, rotaries aren't terribly reliable (or clean, or fuel efficient). Which is one of the main reasons they never took off en masse. But they sure are cool, if you're handy with a wrench and have a higher tolerance for BS than I do.

I have joined the group!, I ended up going to Cleveland for my 2003 Silver, I am working on getting it back to Saratoga. I do not have any mechanical abilities, so will be looking for help. I know Gary at Child’s automotive is great with Honda, anybody take your S2000 there?
