Default Advice on renting garage

Morning Everyone!

Not sure if anybody can help or offer advice at all, but I want to move out of my current digs asap and move back in with my parents (long story).

Problem is, if I do that, they'll have enough room for my DD, but not for the S.

They have a double garage, but both of my Dad's garage queens are in there.

So I need to find somewhere safe, dry and secure to keep the S.

I've made some enquiries on these online letting companies, but no-one has come back to me so I've given up on those. I've asked around and I have a couple of leads for a garage to rent or storage space to rent, but nothing concrete and still waiting to hear back from one person.

I'm putting a short and basic advert in local supermarkets and post offices today, but apart from that, not sure what I can do?

I'd go the Gumtree route plus the locals like you've already done - best deals are always word of mouth so maybe put a shout on Facebook see if any of your mates know of anywhere

I googled locally and found some very reasonable and secure ones. I went direct to the guy but he also uses these people, it's only £8 a week!

Where are you based?

Yeah already tried that website with no luck

Based in Leicester.

Happy to travel up to 15 mile or so, as the DD is so cheap to run that fetching the S isn't going to cost much! And I'm not bothered about mileage on either vehicle. DD is there to put the miles on and the S is low mileage anyway so it won't hurt it to do more.

Think I may have found a place on Gumtree today actually - wasn't there last week when I looked. Or at least I couldn't see it. It's about 6 or 7 miles from my parents house - about a 10 minute drive.

Secure and 24/7 access, in a quiet area - £20 a week. Will make a call shortly and probably check it out on my way home from work.

I rent part of a friends business unit for £10/week, the only problem is, it's far too easy to not visit and do work on the car!!!

Then your project ends up looking like this!!

It would be far too dangerous for me to have a friend like that ! (is there room for a 20ft wakeboard boat in there ? )

Get in contact with your local council and ask them if they've got any spare council garages. If they have it will be far cheaper than privately renting in your area. I used to keep my S in one.

Yeah have already thought of that and some of mates do that - but when I asked them, they said there's had got broken into.

Most council garages tend to be in areas that are...well, not the best?
