Default Barclays Pingit app

Just wondered if any of you use this and, if so, when and what for.

I installed it the other day on my S4 and although the blurb says you don't have to be a Barclays customer to use it, having verified my credentials, the app is telling me I need to visit a branch for final activation. Slightly fewer Barclays branches up here so before I head off in search of one, I thought it be worth checking if it's worth it ...

Thoughts?

All banks do paym now which essentially allows you to associate your mobi num with an acc and sort code

Not sure what pingit offers really. Or paym. The abilty to swap 8 and 6 for 5 and 6 digits, greater chance of error (accs and sort are verified and getting a digit or two wrong will very likely make it fail).. Bah humbug

On paym my number is locked to an old acc i have so i dont use it

I have Pingit installed and I have used it once or twice. However, I have a Barclays bank account and I recall some colleagues moaning when they discovered it was more than a five minute job to set up if you don't have a Barclays account. During the set up process you can elect to join PAYM which seems essential if your friends/colleagues use their own bank's native app.

I hadn't heard of this PAYM thing so I'll do some more research. Thanks ...
