I bought a Thinkware F800 2 channel dash cam, yet to install it, but I'm contemplating returning it because at £350 it feels like it's overkill. It does however, come highly recommended in a lot of "lists" along with the BlueVue 2 channel dash cams

Nope, not that fancy - forward only but it IS insurance approved so gets me a discount but only on the car it's fitted on.

It's a Mio Mivue 568 which seems to have gone up in price CONSIDERABLY since i bought it.

I don't want to piss on your parade but I've seen a lot of negative comments regarding reliability with that dash cam, that along with the high number on eBay marked "manufacturer refurbished". I was going to follow you and get one but this has put me off.

Well i've had mine for over 2 years now and not had a single issue with it. I'll consider my personal parade un-pissed on. If you're going to get a camera, see how much discount you can get on your insurance and then adjust the price you're prepaared to spend on that basis. if a £100 camera is better than a £50 one and you get a £50 discount on insurance then you've justified the £100 camera.
