Default New spam email.

I today received an email on a new track, purporting to be from TV licensing authority my payments apparently weren't getting made and a visit from the tv van was imminent, mail looked good but since I knew the money was going from the bank I saw the con, but will everyone else, beware.

I love the James Veitch stories about his SPAM interactions. They are awesome.

Anytime I receive one that I think could possibly be real from my bank, credit card, etc I always just call the main number I have from my account stuff directly and ask them if there are issues with the account. Otherwise I just ignore.

Had that one a while back, told me I was six months in arrears with TV payments, even had a sort code and account number to pay into! I knew it was fake as I pay annually, found the bank branch from the code and phoned them, the perps were very nicked.

Unfortunately, you are probably wrong. It looks likely that the over 75s exemption will be scrapped from June 2020. Still, look on the bright side; you'll have something else to moan about.

My 97 year old mother should be charged double, as she has the volume turned to volcanic, and just falls asleep in front of the damn thing!

My father in law used to crank up the volume when he was straining to read something on the screen, like on the weather channel .. so you would end up listening to the weather channel music on full blast lol

Like my mother you will never be phone scammed. If she does pick up the phone it's a case of "WHO, WHAT, SPEAK UP, I CAN'T HEAR YOU" before she hangs up, and that's just me calling. And she doesn't do accents, despite being a Yorkshire woman living in Cornwall, she can't understand the mildest of Scottish brogues so the thieving Nigerian scammers have no chance.
