Albeit touristy by nature, try some London Walks tours. They take you into pockets / neighborhoods you would never go yourself and teach you things about the city you'll never learn by just walking around.

I would suggest that if you visit anywhere outside of the cosmopolitan London (where you'll encounter lots of people, cultures and tolerance), don't mention that you are Romanian. We've got a lot of bigots here at the moment.

As usual a mixed bag of advice and 'humour' on this place. Probably a reflection of our disunited country.

+1 here for Borough Market. Walk round South Bank, take a spin on the London Eye (might have to book - tourists! - spectacular at sunset.)
Visit St Pauls Cathedral. Tower Bridge/Tower of London. I would hop a river taxi down stream to Canary Wharf and back.
You might want to catch the Houses of Parliament before it get blown up by the will of the people.
Try and ignore all the architects' wet dreams messing up the sky.
This is the heart of our democratic processes

Underneath people are still ok.
We just hate all politicians!
Enjoy the footy
