Up here in the sticks, what you wrote conjures up the thought of snapping turtles. There are people that eat them, but they kind of give off a Sling Blade vibe.

 

I’ve never had it but I’ve had plenty of gator. I’ve heard turtle and gator are similar in the fact that different parts taste like different proteins.

I prefer to keep the the fish though


Tough diving today, 60-70’ and had to fight sharks on most of our spots. Lots of sandbar sharks and one big bull

 

Dont like the sound of sharks tbh

 

they actually don’t make any sound

we did have a couple back to back attacks this year. Seemed like a bull was cruising through the surf zone. We always get a spike in beach-gowers in the summer. Walton county closed the beach for a couple days after.

truth is, they are always there. You just don’t usually see them.
