Trying to talk some friends into a motorcycle trip from Alaska back to Minnesota. A bike shop up there will take your shipped bike and hold it til you get there, then you drive it home along the coast and through the Canadian rockies. If it happens it is two years away.
But maybe Kalalau again this winter to tide me over.

I have the same arrangement with my wife. My adventures tend to be canoe trips in places like the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, etc. My avatar is a shot on a small lake where we landed to start a trip on the Clarke/Thelon Rivers in the NWT/Nunavut. We pick our trips by looking at a map of north america at night and picking the place were there are the fewest lights.

So a few months back I announced that i was going to be thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. It’s one of the 3 biggest footpaths in the world in the Eastern US and stretches through 14 states from Georgia to Maine.
I’m on day 76 and I find myself in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia around 920 miles in. By statistics, on 1/4 of the people who started are left on trail.
I’ve only seen about 2 s2000’s the entire trip and it really reflects on how rare this car really is. I really wish you guys could see some of these mountain roads with me, so many nice turns. Really makes me miss driving.
I’m not sure what I’ll be doing with the car after this journey. Doing a thruhike really puts into perspective what u really need in life. All I have is my pack and funds for food and the mountains give me everything else.
Long distance hiking, I still have to finish this one, but I’m already looking forward to the next 2 big trails in our country.
As I move up North I’m seeing more souped up cars. The South loves their muscles cars, especially mustangs.
