Dog food

Hey,

For all the dog owners out there, what kind of food do you feed your dogs?

I've been feeding my dogs Bil-Jac, but it costs ~$55 for 35 lbs. (lasts about 2.5 weeks), which is a lot more than other brands, so I think there may be a brand out there that is just as good (or better) but cheaper.

I've heard about Blue Buffalo, anyone tried that?

I used Innova until changing to senior dog food. It is about $49 for 33 lbs and only first grade ingredients. My dog doesn't like the senior Innova though.

- Wellness: Old Mother Hubbard
- Innova: http://www.naturapet.com

The foods I would definately avoid:

I feed my dog Blue Buffalo (dry food) and Canidae for canned. My dog loves them both. I usually switch up flavors for the Blue Buffalo.......the only flavor he didn't really care for was the fish and rice (didn't care for the fish). Here, you only can get Blue Buffalo at Petsmart.

Here's a ratings review that someone sent me via email a while ago:

How to grade your dog's food:

Start with a grade of 100:
1) For every listing of "by-product", subtract 10 points
2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal or fat) reference, subtract 10 points
3) If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points
4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5 points
5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first five ingredients (i.e. "ground brown rice", "brewer

I feed my dog fresh chicken and beef and he loves it. He's too spoiled to eat dog food now.
