Default Don't send your car to SEMA.

I thought it would be great to send my car to the SEMA show, was I wrong. My car came back dirty and some a$$h0lX wrote wash me on all the windows, even the rear plastic window. The top was suppose to closed for the whole show, and it was left down and I am sure plenty of people touched the inside of the car. And they put a metal decal on the rear trunk, which you are not suppose to do because it can damage the paint. My car is not damaged or anything I am dissappointed that the people that were suppose to take care of my car didn't.

But wait there's more.

Our Diablo just came back and guess what, damage.

1. Cracked windshield
2. Broken front air dam
3. Driver's door won't open because it is bent.

If you do take your car to shows, make sure that you drive the car and you are the one that takes care of everything. People don't care unless it is their car.

My experience has nothing to do with SEMA or the SEMA show, it was caused by the people who were suppose to bring my car back to me.

sending things to any kind of show or presenting things in galleries or events are a lot of commitment.

it's so frustrating to see my art works and design models getting damaged during the show.

i'm sure seeing your beloved car damaged during a show is even worse.

unless you are there to guard it, forget it. at sema, with those stupid gmc boxes banging into every car...scary. I saw three of four dings created at the booth across from us on the 1970 chevelle ss with original paint...a lot of sema attendees don't have respect for any cars, much less imports. I was scared for your s2000 - but the wheels looked great.

So true.

Our shop has a small car show/open house every spring. I had my Black S2000 there with the top down. I wasn't concerned about any damage since I planned on being close by. At one point I was talking to someone and when I turned around, this "women" (I'm being polite) puts her 4 year old in the car. The kid is jumping up and down on my seats! WTF was she thinking. I mentioned to her that we don't allow anyone in the cars and she gets a attitude with me.

ahh people.

As is the case with Roceye, even if you are there you cannot ensure your car will be protected all the time. When I had my Viper, the people who put the alarm system in it wanted to borrow my car for car shows. They would've put in the top of the line system free if I did it. I always said no. Eventially, I sold the car to these same people and of course, they used it as their promo car at shows. When I went by my old car at the show, I saw this little 4-5 year old with his mattel hotwheels car running it along the Viper's hood going "vroom, vroom". His jerk-off father thought it was cute. The guys at the booth were all tied up talking to prospective customers and didn't see it. When I told them about it, they said that they can't really do much about it as it would be bad PR.

UPDATE

I washed my car this morning and the mirror is damaged on the driver's side. Not so mad anymore, it was my choice to send the car to SEMA and I am taking responsiblity for the damage. I knew what could happen and I choose to send the car. My advice is to never send a car to a show unless you can take it there yourself and are near the car. I won't be sending anymore of my cars to show without me being there. But it could just be me, I am very picky with my cars.
