Default everyone hates school

i recently watched a parent ask their kid what they were studying at school, kid told him and the parent shuddered. seems like no one likes school (rare exceptions exist of course), but the common consensus is that school is good for you. is that because it acts like day care or are these sheep people just full of BS.

imo, school was a waste of over a decade of my life besides a couple of friends made.

^^^ tru dat!

For real though, I think that school is a good thing even though a lot of people seem don't seem to like it. You learn a lot of things in school besides the specific subjects you were supposed to learn. If you have interesting teachers (or your parents can help make learning interesting), then school can be interesting too IMO. When I have kids I'm going to do everything I can to help them learn and be as interested as I can in what they are studying at any given time.

What level of school are you referring to?

If you have read any of my threads, you'll know that I'm a college student and I don't like school very much. I like learning from practical applications, but reading a textbooks, cramming for tests are just not my cup of tea.

school is the easiest life most people will ever know. The attitude that "school sucks" is coming from someone who has no idea what the alternative is like. But many people take this attitude when they get frustrated, just like people bitch about work but also worry about losing their job. It is a sign of frustration more than a belief that they don't need it.

yes ur right that school is better than being in a chinese torture chamber. but not by much. you have do work and get criticized, graded and u dont even get paid for it.

my point is that those MANY years can be much better spent, with so much more learned and experienced than sitting in class. but like i said, school is actually day care for the state.

For me, the issue is lack of free time. Weekdays my days begin at 6 am, and until 9 pm all I do is homework, classes and work. Half the time weekends are spent for relaxation and the other half are spent studying. That, and lack of money are my biggest complaints about student life.

For me, having a 9-5 job will be much easier and will leave me free time.

I feel I've learnt more from hands on experience and my own inquisitive nature than I have from sitting in classrooms trying to pay attention.

that could be why I'm about to enroll in a vocational school(silverstate ATC school), regular school just doesn't do it for me.

If you truly believe that school was a waste of time then you're right: it was.
