But to the point which shall ooze Heisenberg-levels of uncertainty; how is austere, staid, and utilitarian not within a certain realm of some fashion? For all the unicorn armies out there with glitter and rainbows, there's yet another mass of folks who want their Yeti coolers and matte (or flat-)-finished utility vehicles so they can go to beer dispensaries with chalkboard menus and reclaimed wood furnishings. To that point, was this theme not born out of a post-Recession/DIY mindset?

I would recommend to look at Toyota's Cement gray in person, in the sun. I bought a 2017 TRD Pro Tacoma in cement gray and had no idea the paint was metallic until the sun came out. It's awesome. The color of the truck changes drastically based on lighting conditions. Looks much darker in the shade, and very metallic in the sun. I'm actually going to spray my S2000 in Autoflex to match my Tacoma. Here's a close up pic of the Tacoma paint in the sun.

I like that color on the new Tacomas, as well as the sand/mud looking color. My wife is not so fond of the latter.
