Japan Trip
Alright boys. Going to Japan soon and I have a few hours in my busy schedule to explore. Being that I am a Honda fan I wanted to visit a couple tuner shops. Top on my list would be Mugen and Type One/Spoon. I would call but I kinda don't speak the language. I checked their sites but not to much info. I know some of you have visited. So I got a few questions for any of you that have visited.
Are they open to visitor? Do I need to schedule an appointment? Any dos and don'ts? Did they say anything when you started humping the exhaust on any of their cars? Any help would be really great. Thanks guys. |
Humping the exhaust isnt illegal as much as its frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane...Thanks alot bin laden!
but seriously I'm very jealous of you right now! always wanted to go to japan. Find out how hard it is to get through customs with car parts. |

You lucky guy!!! On my list are (warning: mind-numbing car porn in the following link) Nissan's "secret" Zama warehouse and Classic Car Nagoya. Rocky Auto looks like a fun place as well as Suzuka and Fuji raceways, if you can catch a race.
I'm clearly less up to the Honda-specific stuff, but I'm sure there are myriad hidden treasures out there. Of course, I haven't been to Japan and experienced these places (yet!) so I'm unsure of how realistic it would be to see everything. With that said, tops on my list would be to go over there and pick up a Hakosuka or Honda S800. Muahaha! :) |
somebody has to talk about the food there.. if you like sushi, try to find a place that is owned by Jiro Ono.. i just saw a documentary on him called Jiro: Dreams of Sushi..
Japan is definitely on my top 3 places to visit before i die.. |

Going to japan in march and i would love to find a car-meet, tuner shop or a honda related visit. Any more tips? |
