Pour some out for Gene Hackman.

I loved the heck out of that guy. The only way I would describe him as an actor is "great." I have missed him appearing in movies the last decade or so.

What an amazing actor. My favorite Lex Luthor ever. Seriously, what a long list of amazing performances over the years.

Yep I always liked him. Very odd about both of them passing like this. The first article I read this morning also seemed to indicate their dog had also died but maybe they just worded the article wrong. But I know details will emerge at some point.

I tended to even like watching him in movies I did not care for otherwise. And like the above post, he was the best Lex Luther. Those Superman movies came right at the perfect time for me being so young and Superman was my favorite super hero at the time. So I saw all of them many times. Miss Teschmacher!!!!!!!

RIP Gene!

It is odd, articles I've read say both were found dead and one of their dogs, two other dogs were alive. Says no foul play, but weird that both are dead along with one of the dogs.

RIP

Edit - BBC are saying foul play isn't ruled out, his wife was only 64. - https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cewkkkvkzn9o

Foul play or not, maybe there was a gas leak or the like. The changes of both being found dead of natural causes has to be more rare than winning the lottery. Add a pet into the mix, and they have to be astronomical.

Yeah the one I read early this morning said they were found dead in their home along with their dog. So couldve meant they were found dead, dog was alive, or dog was also dead. Hard to say! Facts will come out though. Sad in any case. Gene had a long life though at 94!

sam_spider Feb 27, 2025 11:57 AM

Yeah, I had no idea he was 94.

Seems the gas company came out to test for carbon monoxide etc but found nothing, but the article also says they've been dead for some time. Quite sad.
