When I was trying to sell my last car I ha, I posted it both on CL and on AutoTrader.... I didn't get 1 response from my ad on AutoTrader (I always asked where people saw the ad when they called)... I would have signed up for the "run until it sells" but it was a ridiculous price for that option. So IMO if you want a chance to be successful you should have a policy that ads will run until the item sells. I'm not a lawyer, and I don't really know the answer, but there are sites that do this now. I think that, if it's published already, copying it should be fine.
