what to do in macau, hong kong, and thailand?
any recommendations?
i plan on playing roulette, craps, and nl holdem in macau. are the casinos similar to vegas?? free drinks while gambling??? what should i expect??? HK nightlife? what to do in thailand? i will be in phuket and bangkok :kick: |
dude why would you want to gamble in macau when the actions in vegas is so much nicer? anyway if you insist on doing macau, i suggest you avoid the casino lisboa - it looks like it's a thousand years old and the air is rancid. Of course if you wish to see the original casino, stop by. try Wynn in macau if you must gamble - it's no different from the vegas one. the food in macau is interesting but not earth shattering, you can get the same in HK.
HK nightlife: if you're NOT asian i suggest lan kwai fung, at least that's where all the gwai-lo goes. i prefer TST myself and enjoying the street scene on nathan road where you'll see all kinds of skylines & EVOs once it gets dark. if you like to party LKF is one place to go, but there are cheaper places to get wasted...PM me if you want to know about places that you can't write on this forum... thailand: no idea...sorry. |
Before you pick up any girls in Thailand, talk to them first, if their voice is deeper than you, run.. :D
I do agree, LKF is the place to party if you don't know any local pub or bar. That place is also pretty safe at night. Mong Kok and TST is where the local hang out. If you know how to speak Cantonese, check it out. Langham place is also a great place to shop. |
Here is a great website on Bangkok attraction. http://www.bangkok.com/attraction/
I would recommend most of the temple that they suggest (check their temple recommendation), very beautiful architecture. You can actually catch a Chao Praya river boat ride from Wat Phra Kaew (The Emerald Buddha), which will stop at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) and Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple) is also cool if you want to see it and it isn |
awesome thanks for all the suggestions.

LKF gets pricey though. if you want to get away from the asians i suggest Delaney's irish bar over at TST on Peking Road. It's close to the TST KCR station, across from the old Hyatt (now torn down and being rebuilt into something else). |
I suggest not trying to hit on any "girls" in Thailand, mainly because they're not always "girls." :eek3:

FYI. I was there in hk and macau a few months ago, and at macau there is no poker there. No, no limit or any kind of poker. Most people there only play baccarrat. WYNN and las vegas sands are loaded with these tables. blackjack is not too common either. There are table but not nearly as much as baccarrat.
