Please excuse the ignorance of this question, but I rather ask and know then do something stupid....

Is there any thing wrong with kinda bending the seam welds in just the center of each side? The car's front clears my garage just fine but there is a little lip at the entrance of the garage that it definitely scrapes on. The car clears speed bumps and mostly everything just fine but the angle that my driveway meets my garage is where i'm having that issue, not really a problem with the car being "too" low. Would it be a bad idea to bend in the centers just a bit to help gain some clearance? Those things come down a good inch past the body... I'd only need to bend like a 12" piece of the middle... not the whole thing and no where near the jacking points...

Sorry if this is a common sense 'no no' to some of you... I'm just honestly not sure of the function of that seam and thought it couldn't hurt to ask.
