...have a bitch of a time finding any tire. I've been looking for Potenza RE-71R's and have found a set but they want close to a grand for them installed! I may have to buy a set of those noisy Dunlap StarSpec's.

Continental. That's what I went with. $800 tires, mounted and balanced. Sam has them. Jho has them as well.
I didn't go with the re71 because it's close to a track tire and I don't need that for what I use the car for.

I haven't had much seat time on them yet. Jho did post this.

I can say I'm in love with the Continental's as a street tire. I was caught in a downpour the other day and they were flawless. Got me home without any drama or hydroplaning.

I use an iOttie mount (see link above). Simple, effective and I don't have to worry about taking my case off. I'm going to wire in USB power ports so I don't have to worry about charge level on my phone or goPro going forward.
Ah awesome. I have another iOttie mount, but the one I have is two piece and has a ton of compliance. Yours looks like it could be a bit more stable, so I'll give it a shot. I also bought Harry's Lap Timer a while ago, but I'll have to start actually using it. Thanks!

They don't make them in 225/45R17 and 255/40R17.

And the Pilot Sport PS2 is a $300 premium over the Continentals.
