Indycar Parade Lap
 

I have official word that the Parade Lap will happen this year. I’ll assume everyone who has decals on their car will want to be in on this, so only let me know if you DO NOT want to be in on this.

A few facts:
• Weather permitting
• No hardtops
• No roll cages (if you want a driver in your car)
• Secret compartment must be in place for the person to sit on
• Car must be clean (give a bath Saturday night and wipe it down on Sunday)
• If you’re a paying member of S2ki, I’ll take requests for drivers (no guarantees). Reply here, don't PM me
• Take the wind deflector off (if you haven’t done this before, someone can show you how) and bring a phillips screw driver
• Take something to drink with you in the car – the wait maybe long
• You’ll have to sign a waiver from the track
• You CANNOT drink alcohol the morning before this

Keep in mind, there are fewer Indycar drivers than S2000s, so everyone will not get an Indy driver. Everyone will get a chance to drive around the track, but you may get a VIP or you may fly solo – much of this stuff happens at the last minute.

Also, I may set the order of the cars, but if/when the cars are split up into two rows, or a camera man is put into a car – the order will change.

Drive at a reasonable speed – a Mid-Ohio S2000 pace car will lead the way, so just maintain the gap with the car in front of you, slow down a little at the keyhole and the esses (where the crowd is thickest), and don’t make any sudden accels and stops. The pace car driver will go over how to drive once we get ready to pull onto pit lane.

I’ll announce, at the track, by Sunday morning when we should be ready to go. Get to your cars before then to wipe them down and line the cars up – we’ll need to be in a tight pack to get thru the paddock.

So far, we’ve been batting 1000 – no one has thrown a driver off of the back of their and no one has spun out.

This is the highlight of the weekend, so I hope everyone has a good time!

Also any issues if we mount a camera in or on car for the parade lap?

There are no issues if you want to film anything, or mount a camera to your car. I noticed the other day that Best Buy now sells the GoPro cameras. BTW, i'm picking Dario. Mocky, you're lucky Milka Duno isn't running this year - your choice would have been made for you :)

i'll probably mount the camera to my car as well...

At least I can speak some Italian to Simona. Although its only about food or inapropriate behavior.

You can talk to Kanan about how slow you both are on the track. :buddies2:
