*Update*
100k Maintenance has been complete along with a thorough inspection of the car. All fluids changed, brakes serviced, jams all lubed up (i know i'm a sucker for paying for this service), serpentine belt replaced, spark plugs replaced, Billman TCT installed and VTEC Solenoid gasket replaced (it was leaking). Car has a clean bill of health! Now i just need to put some elbow grease into the engine bay which has been neglected.. Do you think i'm good with using "Tub O' Towels"?
The car drives super smooth, is a little quieter and i'm enjoying it even more now that it's been serviced, along with the TCT (piece of mind). The black is also growing on me, especially during night runs.
Oh.. one last thing... There was F'in oil in the washer fluid reservoir. How? Why? Oddly enough, looking at service records from 10k miles ago, the Valvoline where the car is being serviced also found oil in the windshield washer fluid reservoir and charged the owner $50 to flush it out. Why is it back?? Anyway.. I have two terrible quality videos that are sure to make your skin crawl.

I feel like I adopted a beautiful pure bread animal that spent its life sleeping in muddy puddles and played with pigs. It's coming to life though. I'm definitely giving it the love it deserves.
The car was always garaged, so there's no rust and it drives beautifully. Now that maintenance is behind me, it just needs a good detail, some time spent cleaning up under the hood and a new soft top. Maybe some new exhaust tips because it's bugging me that they're corroded. Eventually a K&N for a little noise.

Look at the LHT airbox modification of the airbox before buying the K&N FIPK inlet and filter. The LHT box mod uses the specific K&N S2000 filter, unmuffles induction sounds, suffers no heat soak, and looks OEM. I'm considering retrofitting my OEM airbox with this mod.
Let us (me, anyway) know how the Tub O'Towels works in the engine bay, mine needs attention.
Very curious about how oil gets into the washer bottle other than a prank.

I finally got around to watching the LHT video. I think i'll definitely do that. I'm enjoying cleaning up the car and bringing it back to its glory. At least, for now.

No idea about the oil in the windshield washer system. It's a separate system, so someone must have accidentally put it in there... also, who takes an S2000 to a quick lube place like Valvoline?

Why not Jiffy Lube or Valvoline? Oil is oil and so are oil filters. The last owner of mine had the oil changed at Sears according to the Carfax. Some sort of orange filter on the side of the engine too. The engine hasn't self destructed yet but it's been routinely serviced at Chuck's Special S2000 service garage (formerly in Cleveland and now in Richmond).

Sure, the oil and filters are the same, but the techs usually are pretty minimally trained at these quick lube places (don't know specifically about Valvoline but Sears is usually pretty decent training-wise). I've heard of far too many stories where they forget to put oil in the engine, and the car owner goes and drives for a few miles before seizing the engine. And it's not like S2000 engines are easy to find (granted the lube shop should be on the hook for it). Just seems like too much of a hassle to save 20mins on an oil change and maybe 20 bucks versus going to a dealer that's less likely to make mistakes and also has a bit more resources to make things right if they screw up.

Whatever it was, i'm sure they were somewhat responsible for the oil in the washer tank.
This won't be a problem anymore. It was serviced at H-A. There was a bit of an odd comment made by the head tech who works for Gary.. He said the S2K doesn't have a cabin filter :- so they didn't change it.

I believe that flushing the washer tank would be very hard to do without taking the tank out. Someone got ripped off!
