S2000s at Honda Indy 200 @ Mid-Ohio, Aug 1-3
2014 Honda S2000 involvement at Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
Formerly known as the Indycar Decal Program
This is usually the time of year that i tell you its time to put decals on our cars and promote the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.....
As last year, we will not get to put decals on our cars this year to promote the race.
But the folks at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course still want our cars there for the weekend, still give us the tickets as in years past, still give us t-shirts, and still do driver parade lap(s) in conjunction with the Verizon Indycar Series and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the race weekend of August 1-3.
Here is a quick breakdown of what we will do:
Not nearly as much as the previous years.....
We will drive the Indycar driver around the track for one lap (or possibly more ) and some VIPs. The number of S2000s participating in the parade will be equal to the number of Indycar drivers and VIP - if you don't have a passenger, you PROBABLY WILL NOT drive around the track.
Each participant (car) will receive;
- weekend General Admission tickets (two)
- paddock/pit passes (two)
- a special infield parking pass (one)
- event weekend t-shirt (one)
Parking spot is to be determined. The bluff area may not be available this year
Also, we may bet discount coupons for food, souvenirs, etc...

The max count will be APPROX 35, but this will be limited to Ohio folks and those in surrounding states (or any race fan who will drive out to Ohio.) I prefer folks active in the club and members. There will be fewer cars in the parade lap , assuming we have a parade lap. Parade lap is weather dependent as some of us know all too well.
Any S2000 can put you name on the list, however, three obvious (to me) items are:
- You can't have a hardtop installed to do parade (but you can still join)
- No rollcages - Drivers and VIPs aren't going to contort thru a jungle gym of tubing
- Your car must be in good shape and look good - no rough cars or cars with mis-matched body work
I'll start a list below.

NOTES
- You only need to participate on the sunday of the main Indycar race - friday and saturday are optional. AND you may need to arrive fairly early on Sunday
- Parking location is tbd
- If our parking spot is inside the Paddock area, you will receive a wristband when you pick up your tickets at Will Call - you must keep this on at all times, or the folks working the gate may give you a hard time to get back to your car. Remember, they don't know who you are, they are just doing their jobs.
- Only cars that are on the list for this event can park in this location - there isn't enough space for other S2000s to park here or for your buddies to park there.
btw, same info applies to the NASCAR Nationwide race....
Thanks,
-Pete

I would enjoy being part of the group, I already have purchased my ticket package for the weekend so i wouldn't need the provided tickets. With being new to the S2K community I would love the opportunity to meet other S2K owners at the race. Here is a picture of my S2K. Would this be possible?

Would I be allowed to sign up with a slightly damaged front fender? My S2000 got backed into and the driver's side fender is crinkled. I can send a couple pictures if needed.
Thanks!
Thanks!
