Flooded engine
Ok before I start this topic, I know most s owners don't even take their cars out in the rain, let alone a storm. But hear me out please! Long story short I coasted through what seemed to be a small flooded area and flooded my engine trying to get into work. All of the lights came on as if I were starting the car and then it died. After about 5 turn overs she came back on sputtering white smoke but that subsided after a few minutes. I let it run and the car seems fine but I wanted to know if there is any maint you guys would suggest after an event like this... I was thinking of running seafoam through the system but is that even necessary?
Also... There are no lights on the dash anymore.
Thanks!

I assume you have the stock intake, I wouldn't worry unless you have a CAI like the AEM that sits low and to the front of the car. I would check the radiator area for any debris, maybe check the filter to make sure it's dry.

I have the k&n typhoon and I sits directly behind my fans behind the front bumper. Since I was in there readjusting my front lip I saw the radiator is clean other than a couple lady bugs... Anything else I should check for? Thanks for the reply!

Can you elaborate a little bit. Because I've been driving it for a couple days now and everything is working fine. Or so it seems...

Pretty much water doesn't compress so it usually breaks shit internally. If its running fine I doubt you sucked up enough water to hydro lock it. I would change the oil ASAP just in case some water got by the piston rings.

Got it, I was going to do that today but with some cheaper oil since I'm probably going to have to change it again pretty soon to make sure there is no water. Thanks for the info.
