Default Good News Bad News

So bad news: I missed yet another s2k meet here in Oklahoma :\
And still bad news: my transmission still needs rebuilding
BUT good news: I swapped new bearings and hubs into my s2k and she's driveable again!

So, I should actually be able to meet you guys at the next meet assuming it's on a Saturday.

FINALLY, eh?

oh, and protip: Buying all special tools needed plus brand new quality parts for a hub/bearing replacement...still cost hundreds less than a dealer would quote that job, just saying.

I think if we included beer in the price to do it myself it only comes out to just under $400. MmmHmmm, soak up those savings!

UPDATE:

Check out that damage!

Yay for fixing the problem yourself and being able to drive her again! Post a pic of the hub lol! Hope you torqued the axle nuts accordingly to prevent it from happening again.

Well since you need a rebuild like I might too, you might be able to recommend me to someone, unless I should just do the ap2 trans swap? I think my brass syncros are failing my 3rd gear.

I'm an engineering student, a DIYer, and a Marine Veteran who doesn't know when to say "no" who bites off way way way more than he can chew.

In other words, I'm stupid enough to attempt the rebuild myself.

I have nearly every tool I need now and the official Tech Service Manual. So now all I need is a LOT of alcohol.

I have NO idea what I'm doing. I'm just so stupid and hard-headed that I never give up and I just accidentally end up doing it right lol
