i like it. how does the K-Sport Control Pro coilovers ride?

CHONCH 06-14-2010 06:26 AM

They ride very well. Nice and firm, not too harsh. This is my second set of K Sports (had a set on my GS-R and I was very happy with them). I drove the HELL out of my first set on my GS-R for over a year before the car was sold, and they held up great, gave me no problems, and the car was SLAMMED. You definitely know it when you hit a bump or valley in the road, but it’s nothing different than what you would feel with coilovers that are 3x the price. So far they feel great and I’m happy with my purchase. I’m lowered quite a bit, and have all of the struts set on the softest setting.

As far as comparing them to others, I’ve owned Tein Flex’s, the GC/Koni setup, and KYB AGX’s/Skunk2 adjustable springs, and I pretty much like these the best. The Tein Flex’s were nice, but are about twice the price of the K Sports, and definitely not twice as good. The GC/Koni setup is too harsh because of the way you have to pre-load the spring, and the Skunk2’s were waaaaaaaay too harsh. So for the money, the K Sports have always been the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Any sports car that is lowered significantly and handles well is going to ride like shit compared to normal car or luxury cars. That is just how it goes. However, if you pick the right components and tune it right, you’ll be able to get a somewhat decent feeling ride out of a slammed car.
