I have completely rewritten search and it is, according to those I've shown it to, substantially better than it has ever been. It's fast, it's accurate and narrowing results to what you are looking for is simple and effective.

In addition there are no IE form resubmission warnings and you can bookmark searches so you can run them again later or post or email links to them. All in all I think a big improvement.

To make this happen I need to shutdown the site for a while so I've elected to do the update on Saturday at 10AM. This is the slowest time for the site and so should affect the fewest people possible. I expect the update to take 3-4 hours so please expect the site to be offline from 10AM through 2PM Saturday May 31 Eastern Time (GMT-4).

I have a couple of other updates to do as well but these don't require taking the site offline for any significant amount of time (a couple of minutes tops) so I'll do those next week to concentrate on just search for this maintenance period.
