Default WTB = Exhaust? - need more noise...:-)

Hello...does anybody have any preferences or opinions for an 'off the shelf' + 'easy to fit' aftermarket exhaust solution?...I have reviewed these 'online only'...
Magna Flow Street Series $930
Tanaba Medallion Touring $893
Invidia N1 $650
Invidia Q300 $680
APEXi WS2 (mild steel) $890
...of course, does anybody have a used one that I could have/buy?...
Thoughts welcome...thanks in advance...

One thing to consider is the noise vs weight vs "drone".

I had the HKS on my AP1 and loved the sound, but it did drone.
my Asura now is amazing to the ears, but will drown out the stock radio with no issue and makes conversation a challenge. With the top up, there's no hope.

Doug's Greddy Ti-C sounds great when the silencers are out. Nicely muted when in.

People also have had good comments about the Fujitsubo Legalis-R. It's understated but more grunt at WOT, no real drone that I recall hearing about. I always liked those.

If you want ear-plugs-required noise get either of the Invidias. That's not an exaggeration, the noise is headache inducing. The Q300 is the "quietest" of that pair. I had one on my car for roughly three weeks and that long only because it took a week to get a Tanabe Medalion (one "L") Touring shipped from the West Coast!

Finding anyone with the Medalion Touring who doen't like it may prove difficult. Great "gentlemanly performance" sound, especially in VTEC.

Try to hear any exhaust you're considering on and inside another S2000. I was unable to do this and took a loss getting rid of the 3-week old Q300.

My sample of three: OE, Q300, Medalion Touring. The last remains on the car.

When I got my S, it came with the Invidia Q300, and I agree with Chuck. Definitely headache inducing... I would steer you away from that one.

I really like my Mugen. I suspect we all like ours the best, but I like mine because it makes the car sound bigger without being raspy or blatty or droney. I was more after the quality of the sound than the quantity, and I haven't been disappointed. And the build quality is impressive as well. (Before I installed it I had in on my living room floor and I just loved the look of it!) It costs more than most others, but I've never regretted spending the extra $$$.

After spending the morning driving behind Dean this weekend... I agree that the sound of the Mugen is great! Doesn't look out of place, not too noisy. I agree that the quality of the sound is on point

Smile Exhaust

I would have to say my favorite would be the Comptech exhaust. I have it on my s and love it. I agree the Invidia is just not the one to have if you want to enjoy your car. If not the Comptech step and spend money for the Mugen. You will really get what you pay for in the exhaust department.

From my experience it's Mugen, Greddy SE, and then Fujitsubo Legalis-R for me.
Mugen mature sound not loud/obnoxious, full titanium, can be expensive, sits pretty flush with the rear bumper, and harder to find
Greddy SE Louder then Mugen, nice rumble, slight drone at about 3K, sits flush with the rear bumper, easy to find
Fujitsubo Legalis-R, nice rumble, no drone, sticks out a little outside the rear bumper, the tips are little small, and harder to find.

I had the Mugen on my AP1 when NA and supercharged. I had the the Greddy SE on my AP2 both when I had ITB's and turbo. The Fujitsubo was on my AP2 NA. There are others that sound good as others have mentioned and also look good on the car. There are few that stick out too much and ruin the looks of the S2000's rear. I personally like a nice rumble that won't annoy me when I daily drive it or go on long road trips.

Good luck on your search!
