Big thanks to all that helped out. Really relieved that we got everyones seat heaters in before the end of the day. Six in one day is plenty, and we were hustling!
Thanks again Ken for opening up your home for the project. Much appreciated.
Glad everyone got home safe and sound.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Later.
Bill

I did my heated seat install myself several years back. The power cable is connected to my Amp, which goes straight to the battery. I dont like this at all. The seats stays on even when engine is off, this can cause a fire. So I have to remember to turn this off.

The power cables from the heated seats are pretty thin and has it own fuse. Can I just connect it to the 12v outlet behind the console. If this works, this should also turn off when the engine is off. I also wanting to goto radioshack and get a timer for this.

So here's the scenario. The 12v outlet as USB adapter that is powering my iphone and or Tomtom. Behind the outlet, that cable was spliced and it also power 6leds in my custom windscreen. So I would like to add this heated seats to the chain. Should this be a problem? I've been wanting to add a 2nd 12v under the dash to power the phone and GPS, but still never got around to it.

I have a second power outlet under the dash for my GPS, and my seats wired into the power outlet between the seats. This should not cause an issue.

You should post in your regional forums for an answer, unless you planning on driving to Oregon?

Sorry for bringing back an old post, but i’m curious if there’s a DIY for this and if somebody can point me in a direction of what to purchase.
