If you look at most serious Honda builds, they all use custom intakes, that have been dyno tuned, to produce the power right where the person wants it. This is almost always a long pipe. With tuning, the best off the shelf intakes are usually CAI's due to the resonance of the long pipes.Originally Posted by S2k_RN

I'm curious what mean with getting power with a custom intake. Is there a design that's out there that a manufacture has not thought of? I would like to know what this setup would look like, since it maybe worth it to do. I understand that a tune will get some power.

To be honest though, if you want power, you'll want to go with a custom intake and a tune.
Best "air intake" for the S2000 looks like this:

While using the search feature, you would end up with a lot of solid links, however you need to decide what you want. Bling, power, sound? Different intakes give you different results. What are you looking to achieve?

Sup Junior!!!

That's a subjective question. The stock intake is really solid other than it suffers from heat soak. Gutting the box and adding a snorkle will improve performance. As the S2k comes pretty well maxed out HP TQ wise adding indiviual breating mods wont have a major impact. However adding a full complement of breathing mods plus a good tune will yield you power. (I/TB/H/TP/E) That just is going to cost a good bit of $.
But if you just want an intake that makes power PWJDM; If you are on a budget AEM V2; If you are on a budget budget gut the stock box add a snorkle and a cooling plate.
