Default "Old Mac" Drive - Saturday September 8th 2012

.....................................McKenzie Pass Drive

.................................................. .

Saturday September 8th 2012 - Officially 200 miles and 4 hours of drive time during the drive, however the starting point will be in Springfield, OR and end point will be in Salem.

Many of you have not driven McKenzie Pass and you don’t know what you are missing! This drive should have outstanding weather for once on a drive this year! Everyone come out, get some sun and have fun together!

We will travel down the Willamette Valley to Springfield.

And then head up the scenic McKenzie River.

The cut-off for the “Old McKenzie Pass” highway:

Along the way we will stop for lunch at "Takoda's". Then it is up through Breitenbush and the Mt. Hood National Forest.

There will be lots of twisties on the way up to the top of the pass. This is a fairly challenging drive

At the top of the pass we pass through lava beds.

The Dee Wright Observatory at the top of the pass:

Then it is on to Sisters and north through the Willamette National Forest to Detroit.

Its all over when we reach Salem.

Don’t miss out on this one!

Note:This is the Oregon S2000 Owners Forum. As such, our drives are exclusively forS2000's and their owners in Oregon and S.W. Washington.

Our drives are not open to the general public, which includes those who used to own an S2000, hope to own one, those with similar cars, or those who think the drive we've put together sounds fun and would like to tag along, etc.

We are not trying to be snobby here, but are trying to clarify what we are about – The fun and adventure of Honda S2000 ownership.

Is there a problem with us taking a right in Sisters, thus leaving the tour, and going to Bend? Or is it mandatory to complete as laid out? Not sure we'll be able to, but hopefully..
