Ap1 vs ap2?
 

Hey guys, I'm from Regina SK, and I'll soon move to Ottawa. I currently have 30k for a S2k, and my friend in Regina was also asking me to take his AP2 2005 with me. And he's asking for 22000$, 84k odo.
However, after I test drive his s2k, I felt the torque isn't as bad, and I'm wondering is the AP1 gonna be way worse or It's actually similar to AP2 in terms of Low rpm torque. Also, I'm not sure is 22000 a fair price or it's bit too much.

Price sounds good if this is Canadian currency and kilometers and the car is in great condition. The AP2 engine has more power at low rpm than the AP1 engine. Neither is awash with low end torque.

Got a place to winter store it starting around Thanksgiving (Canada or US)? Winter was brutal my last dozen visits to Ottawa. No big body of water like Toronto (or even Cleveland) to temper the winter temps.

A 2005 with 84K at $22K is a friend price as long as the car is pretty clean and without any accidents. 2004-2005 models are really the best of both worlds in the S2000 but you don't get any nannies to help with traction if that is a concern. Hope everything works out in your search.

The AP1 vs AP2 debate has been going on ever since the AP2 was released.

I had a 2005 AP2 and now drive a 2000 AP1.

The AP1 is more "raw" and "twitchy which I find more fun. The AP2 is more refined, has shorter gears, the engine has more torque but a lower redline.

In all honesty, for daily driving, there is not a big difference. Go out there and try both!

My advice to you would be to find the lowest mileage & best condition car you can and stick with it.
