Lapping days at The Ridge Motorsports Park
Making this a sticky.
Singed up for August 5th! Who else is in? |
No July 8th for you?
|
Nah, the 2 other guys im going down with and I decided that date is a bit too early in the year to insure dry weather. Especially this year. Also gives me more time to save up some money for the ridiculous cost ($350) of event, hotel and misc crap for car like race pads. This is not a cheap sport! Look forward to it though. I didn't do any events last year and look forward to besting my lap time.

Ok. August is a Maybe for me, depends on budget and other plans. Was planning for the July event.

Hope to see you all down there and look forward to catching one of your BBQ/tech days. :burnrubr: :p |
I'm out.. I realized the Miata needs something other than stock shocks/springs, it is pretty wallowy right now. No point in spending track day money again before I get suspension straightened out.
|
I'm currently chasing some serious vibration/clicking. Thinking either an outer CV, wheel bearing or my diff. Getting down to the wire.
Sounds like you just need some sway bars spets. That's Easy. May not be "cheap" though depending on what may/may not be out there on the used market. |
I already did the swaybars, but its not quite enough. Was running 2:19s so there is some more work for me to do.

Anyone going to the SCCA Track Night on July 27th?
|
Anyone still paying attention to this thread?
Fairly new to the PNW and really looking forward to getting out to the Ridge. I'm used to <$200 trackdays though and having a hard time cozying up to the ~$300+ price of entry. Any tips on getting track time at The Ridge economically? |
Turn 2 has been the most expensive in the past. Might try a different organization and for during the week or running at night. Those are the 3 factors that will get you track time at the least expense. I haven't run out there in several years though so not up on what organizations are running there these days.

That's been my experience too. I'll keep looking. I appreciate the reply anyway. Have you been doing DEs elsewhere or just taking a break?
ORP always looked really fun. Bit of a drive but i'd do it at least once. I remember seeing it long before moving to this area, I think while reading Dennis Palatov's blog, and always wanted to go check it out. http://dpcars.net/d1/20201220_1458502.jpg |

Sorry to hear that. Really, that sucks. Looks like you had the car a long time.
Going to replace it with another S, or trying something new? The market is awful for buyers as I'm sure you know. I looked for a year before picking up this most recent car. |

So no strict timeline for "replacement", just dealing with having no S/sports car indefinitely until things line back up. Putting more time into riding my motorcycle and doing some off-road/overlanding trips planned in my Tacoma 4x4. Different speed, but also enjoyable. I miss my car dearly, esp now that summer is upon us. But now its in my garage being stripped for parts. Drivetrain being sold, all the aftermarket and misc I'm holding on to for now, in effort to use on a future re build. __________________ |
2 Spas taken out? That's criminal. Get you a Silverstone next time lol. Plenty of em. Spa is the best, way better than RYP. Spa was my ideal color this time around. The car I ended up with is Silverstone..."Iconic" some say but too common and just kinda lame. It had a lot else going for it so I took the plunge, and will color change to Monte Carlo Blue B-66P.
I too have a Tacoma 4x4...haha. Been having a lot of fun with that up here just exploring the local mountains. totally different experience from sports cars right? Really enjoyable though, being out there, and learning a new driving discipline. I had a JK Wrangler prior and the Taco really doesn't disappoint off road. Kinda itchin to try some more technical stuff beyond just forest roads. It just hasn't been the easiest time to meet local groups and try to get out and go wheeling. Plus we just had our first kid last summer, work's been busy and so on. I might try and hit you up sometime to see if I could tag along on some trails or something. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...cff43f9b52.jpg |

Man if I didn't have the baby I would have gone for a 3G 4runner or a 1g Taco. I was trying to get something with all the modern safety stuff though. I'm stoked on this truck though, it's incredible. Probably the best all around vehicle i've ever owned.
Sounds like some great trips in the works. I've only driven through some of that area. Definitely want to get back to Utah for some adventures sooner than later. |
Nice!
Mines a first gen single cab manual. I've got a 4wheel pop up camper coming for it next Month and some out of state road trips out to Yellowstone and surrounding areas in July and Moab/Utah and Colorado & NM later in September, so really looking forward to some overnight trips in some pretty epic areas of the country. There is some cool areas to explore in WA too, and used to do a lot of that in my 20's and revisiting again now that the S is down. The Tacoma is my only vehicle right now so I don't do too crazy of wheeling that I am not confident I cant return from without issues, but its tough because the more challenging the better/fun. Having someone to go with definitely helps though for safety and helping get back if there is a problem. I'm still running open stock diffs, but do have a 2" susp lift and some aggressive 33" tires so it gets around pretty good anyhow. |

Man your S was sick. Damn shame.
Taco looks good! Not too much lift, just enough! Gotta keep the CG reasonable so its not too tippy, right? Haha. Good stuff. |
