Default Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Hail

could get me off the track today!

My apologies to those who like train wrecks, but no spins for me today.

It was an interesting day at PR today. Only about 15 people showed up, so there was one run group. The track was soaked in the morning, but it was not raining, and it mostly dried up by about 10:30. That was fun. Then, at about 11:15, a thunderstorm blew in (I was on the track at the time), and rain, slush and hail came hammering out of the sky. They pulled us off the track (I was leaving anyway).

The afternoon was all rain and/or very wet track. A few people spun, with greater action as the afternoon wore on. My instructor was surprised at how easily my rear end would start to get all squirrelly on me at relatively low speeds, despite driving good lines and going very gently on the throttle; that was nice, since it confirmed my impression that these tires (Michelin PSC) aren't very good in the rain, though they are excellent on a dry track. As I was about to go out again at 4:10, another car spun off, and I took that as a sign that I should leave while both car and driver were unscathed.
