Default Saturday, July 14: Afternoon Cruise

Please see updated info in this new topic:

Hi all,

we're going to have another get together on Saturday, July 14, but this time it'll be a leisurely "parade lap" drive, similar to the start of our recent Crazy Drive. You know, six or ten (or ??) S2000s driving head to tail with HIDs blazing, the unfortunate non-S2000 owning masses gawking in disbelief as we pass, joking on our talkabout radios, that sort of thing.

Jerry's come up with the following extensive itinerary:

See revised plan below.

So far those planning to attend are:

Jerry - "jerrypeterson"
Don & Meryl - "DSR"
Ted & Daryl - "Tedster"
Carol & Kyle - "Carol"
Ken - "KenS2K"
Ray - "RT"
Scott & Kristie (8 months pregnant ) - "ScottB"
Lawrence - "lawrence" [should make the start and finish]
John - "Chiman"
Jerry & Laurie - "jolson"
? - "yf69"
Joni & Mike - "GoTopless"
? - "wiseguy"

Wow , 12 or 13 S2000s so far! Anyone else?

We have the date, but we need to finalize the itinerary and timing. Any changes or additions? Should we meet at 11:00 am?

Ted

Ted, Kyle will be coming with me on the 14th.

It doesn't look like Anthony's at Shilshole opens until 4:30 on Saturdays. The following is from their web site:

Dinner: Begins at 4:30pm Monday - Saturday, Sunday 3:30

If you are interested in extending the trip to Everett, Anthony's Home Port, Everett (free parking) is open earlier on Saturdays:

Lunch: 11:00am Monday - Saturday
Dinner: 4:30pm Monday - Saturday, Sunday 3:30pm

If the group doesn't wish to come this far north, how about Ivars Salmon House or ???

Hope I haven't confused things. Looking forward to seeing everyone again......and showing off our cars.

Just make sure wherever we go for lunch that there is adequate safe parking....

Are those without talk-about radios (i.e. me in this case) going to cause issues on the drive?

Here's hoping the 14th will be as nice as this weekend has been!

Yea Scott, No problem. Ray was nice enough to loan me one last time. I've since picked up a pair myself.

Where are the Spa Yellows? I don't care if we have to twist arms and break legs, its an ownership responsibility that at least one yellow joins this drive. Be cool and show up to show off.

I forgot to include Lake Union and the Waterfront in the itinerary. This should be ok, since I will probably drop Ballard/Market street if we aren't going to Anthony's.

I checked with Bellevue Honda this morning with regard to meeting there before the drive. With the construction, it doesn't look like it will pan out, since there are only ten customer parking spaces without contractor material piled on it. We should still do the "one lap of Bellevue Honda".

The Ivar's parking lot was kind of small wasn't it? I suppose it doesn't matter in the early afternoon.

Let's meet at Factoria Square again. They have ample parking, even on the weekends, let alone at 11am on a Saturday.

Can someone check if there is a Mariner's game on Saturday the 14th? The extra traffic should be a consideration on the drive, especially if we'll have more fans.

I am really psyched. With 10 or more cars, the pictures and video should be impressive. I feel the owners add just as much value to the car as anything.

Since Kirkland is part of the drive, we could always stop over at Kirkland Honda. In fact that is where I bought mine.

Oh-oh! Mariners are at home, playing San Francisco.

Game time is 1:05pm PDT.

Traffic will be rough on I90 going west between 11 and 1 and we probably do not want to go near Safeco field at that time.

Ok. I'll draft a new itinerary and post it tomorrow. I am planning with respect to our 11am start time and the Mariner's game.
